Meet Our Principal

I’m honored to serve as the Principal of Joaquin Miller Elementary. As a long-time Oakland resident and JM parent since 2020, this role feels especially meaningful—an opportunity to give back to a community that has given so much to my own family.

I’ve been an educator for over 15 years, and throughout that time, my focus has always been on creating schools where every child feels seen, valued, and supported to thrive. I believe schools should be joyful, inclusive places that nurture curiosity, build confidence, and open doors for every student. I also believe that the work of equity and social justice lives in our everyday choices—how we listen, how we teach, how we lead.

At Joaquin Miller, I’m committed to strengthening the systems and relationships that allow all of us—students, staff, and families—to do our best work together. My goal is to support a school culture where every child can grow into their full potential and where every family feels a sense of belonging.

I live here in Oakland with my husband and two kids, who are both proud JM Wolverines and I'm deeply grateful for the chance to serve the students and families of this incredible community.
