Tours and Enrollment for 2026/2027

Joaquin Miller is a diverse and inclusive elementary school, with families from all over the city of Oakland–from D1 to D7–forming a tight-knit community of about 400 students and their families. We have an active PTA that raises about $800 per student each year to provide services, programs, and activities not covered by the school district, and to ensure that *all* of our students receive the same high-quality education.

Many JM parents and guardians volunteer time to support our children by chaperoning field trips, supporting instruction in the classroom, helping out in the library, working on campus beautification, and more. We build community with events like the Trunk or Treat, pancake breakfasts, and our Spring dance (to name a few!). We have an excellent SpEd Inclusion program, one of the first of its kind in OUSD.
